‘Vampire Diaries’ Scoop: Elena ‘Lashes Out’ At Prom With Damon & Stefan

The Salvatores are ‘determined to get through to Elena,’ but not all goes according to plan. Read on for more spoilers!
Prom is supposed to be the most memorable night of a high schooler’s life, but when you’re dancing in Mystic Falls, things tend to go south quickly. Such is the case for Elena (Nina Dobrev) on the April 18 episode of The Vampire Diaries, as she “suddenly lashes out in a way no one could have predicted.” Both Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) show up to the dance — I’ve lost track of who actually attends Mystic Falls High at this point — but “the evening begins to spiral out of control despite their efforts.”

Malese Jow (Anna) Covers Rihanna!

It’s no secret that we’re obsessed with Malese Jow. The Vampire Diaries alum has it all — an edgy style, major acting chops, a sense of humor (check out her TVD Re#ash videos!) and a smile so warm it could melt away all the snow currently accumulating on the East Coast. And now you can add pretty little songbird to that list because Malese apparently is blessed with the silvery vocal chords of an angel. Homegirl cannot only sing but she can sing well.

Tune in to the video below to watch her and dreamy musician Austin Charles jam out to Rihanna’s and Mikky Ekko’s track “Stay”:

Here are the lyrics to “Stay” in case you want to join in on the fun:

All along it was a fever
A cold sweat hot-headed believer
I threw my hands in the air and said, “Show me something,”
He said, “If you dare come a little closer.”

Round and around and around and around we go
Oh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you know

Not really sure how to feel about it.
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can’t live without you.
It takes me all the way.
I want you to stay

It’s not much of a life you’re living
It’s not just something you take – it’s given

Round and around and around and around we go
Oh now tell me now tell me now tell me now you know

Not really sure how to feel about it.
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can’t live without you.
It takes me all the way.
I want you to stay.

Oh the reason I hold on
Oh cause I need this hole gone
Funny you’re the broken one but I’m the only one who needed saving
Cause when you never see the light it’s hard to know which one of us is caving

Not really sure how to feel about it.
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can’t live without you.
It takes me all the way.
I want you to stay, stay.
I want you to stay, oh.

'Vampire Diaries': Daniel Gillies on Elijah's return -- 'He's gonna shock and possibly even horrify'

THE-VAMPIRE-DIARIES_510x383.jpg

In next week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, Elijah is back. “There’s been a lot of talk about what I’m returning for and to do,” Daniel Gillies says. The episode’s synopsis simply states that Elena has a “surprising encounter” with Elijah in Pennsylvania, where she and Rebekah are headed in their search for Katherine and the cure. “All I can say is tune in,” Gillies says, “because Elijah’s gonna shock and possibly even horrify a few. In fact, I’ll say he’s gonna horrify many. But franky, I don’t care. I think what he’s doing is wonderful.”
Exec producer Julie Plec is even more vague: “The first glimpse of Elijah, your heart explodes, you’re so happy to see him. And he is quintessential Elijah, dressed in his beautiful suit with his lovely demeanor, and, as always, trying to find ways to keep Klaus in his place and keep his family together.” (That’s also what Elijah will be doing in the April 25 episode, which serves as the backdoor pilot for the Originals spinoff.)
After this week’s episode, in which Silas put the white oak stake in Klaus’ back and threatened to do worse if he doesn’t get him the cure, Klaus appears to need all the help he can get. While promo shots show Caroline with him — is she getting the splinters out? — we like the shirtless shot of Joseph Morgan, above, the best.

Claire Holt Talks Rebekah & Stefan’s Fate and The Originals

All My Children

Claire Holt’s run on The Vampire Diaries is about to end and she is preparing to join the spin-off, The Originals as Rebekah. The witty and evil teen vampire is stuck with the desire to grow old, get married and have kids, which has led her to become a hit within the series. But as part of the Klaus gang, she will better fit in on that show as part of the original vampire family. Luckily she caught up with Zap2It to talk about her role, how Rebekah wants to be human, her relationship with Stefan and joining the spin-off series. She also confirms that at the end of the current Vampire Diaries that Rebekah and Katherine will meet face to face! You can hear all about it in the video down below.

Top 5 Vampire Diaries OMG Moments From Season 4, Episode 17

Still all aflutter over a certain sexy scene in  The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 17, “Because The Night”? So are we. That’s why we bringing you the Top 5 OMG Moments that had us hitting “rewind” on our DVR remotes over and over.
Damon and Lexi’s Little Secret
It’s always awesome to see Lexi — even if it’s just in memories. New York in the 1970s was the perfect place to see everybody’s favorite ripper-curing party girl. We know that she and Stefan (Paul Wesley) had a special relationship, and that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) murdering her is one of the big specters in their past — but Lexi helping Damon?!

It turns out that with his emotions firmly in the “off” position, rumors of ‘70s Damon’s carefree ways had reached Stefan’s ears in Mystic Falls. Takes a Ripper to know a Ripper. Lexi is there to do the dirty work of making Damon feel again — and does he ever. Turns out that in an effort to pull one over on Lexi, he tricks her into sleeping with him (oh what a trick!) and then reveals he doesn’t care for her at all. Sure, it was down right dirty of Damon to pull that junk — but hey,

The Vampire Diaries Songs: Music From Season 4, Episode 17

Any Vampire Diaries episode with a Ramones song is OK with us! There was also a stellar performance by Dead Sara, who contributed an exclusive cover of a Patti Smith song, “As the Angels.” The show flashed back to the 1970s, when Damon (Ian Somerhalder) had no emotions and was “borderline evil,” according to Elena (Nina Dobrev). But while the elder Salvatore was cold as ice, the music was hot. Props as always to TVD’s song selector, Chris Mollere.

The Vampire Diaries Spin-Off Spoilers: Who Else Is Joining the Originals?

Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah in a Season 4 Promo

Here we were, thinking we wouldn’t see anyone except the Originals on The Vampire Diaries spin-off. Well, and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), of course.

But according to a new spoiler from TVLine, some more Mystic Falls residents may join the ancient vampires in New Orleans. “I am assured that TVD regulars definitely appear in the planted pilot, but the exact and complete RSVP list is a well-guarded secret – including who appears in New Orleans, in Mystic Falls, or in both settings,” Matt Mitovich writes.

Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) already told MTV’s 10 on Top that he’s not headed thto e Big Easy: “They’re shooting in New Orleans, and I’m from New Orleans, and I’m the only actor not going down there to shoot. I mean, what’s that?”
But that doesn’t mean it’s a totally Damon-less episode. “We get a week off, ‘cause we’re not really in the episode — I mean, we are,” Ian told Pop Sugar, confusingly. We’re guessing the elder Salvatore is one of the vampires we see in Mystic Falls.

Who do you most hope to see tag along with the Originals? Dare Klaroline fans hope that Caroline (Candice Accola) suddenly starts craving gumbo and just has to ride down there with Klaus (Joseph Morgan)? Crazier road trips have happened!

What is Elijah doing back? Daniel Gillies gives us some insight (but not much!)

tvd_418a_0134b-jpg-e183c882-t3

There’s been a lot of speculation about the return of Elijah. Why is he back? Does he want the cure? What does he want to do with it? Does he want revenge for Kol? What about Elijah & Katherine? Or is it Elena?
So much speculation!

Exec producer Julie Plec is vague about what Elijah is doing back: “The first glimpse of Elijah, your heart explodes, you’re so happy to see him. And he is quintessential Elijah, dressed in his beautiful suit with his lovely demeanor, and, as always, trying to find ways to keep Klaus in his place and keep his family together.”

And Daniel Gillies isn’t helping much either!!

I think what he’s doing is wonderful.” (source: insideTV)

Horrify many? Now our minds are working on overload! Just what is Elijah up to?

All we know is that it’s going to be a long 6 days before we get to see what he’s up to in “American Gothic“

No matter what team you’re on — Delena, Stelena, Forwood, etc. — you know that The Vampire Diaries is as much about its love stories as anything else. And what comes with good love stories? Hot hook-ups! These characters are smokin’, and there’s so much onscreen action it can be hard to keep track of it all.

However, there are still plenty of pairings that haven’t occurred outside of fan fiction, and we know you have thoughts about them. So, which yet-to-happen TVD couple do you want to hook up?

The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 17: 5 Questions We Want Answered

The Vampire Diaries always leaves us guessing, especially now how dangerous Elena (Nina Dobrev) can be when she hasn’t fresh blood in a few days. We have tons of questions that we hope will be answered in Season 4, Episode 17, “Because the Night.”

Who’s Will?
Damon (Ian Somerhalder) has a buddy! Whom he killed. Whomp. We’re hoping to get more insight into Will — and thus, Katherine (Nina Dobrev) — in Season 4, Episode 17’s flashbacks. If this on-the-verge-of-death vampire was really Damon’s pal, couldn’t he have given the elder Salvatore some intel without torture, as thanks for saving his life with Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) magic blood? Oh, well. We’ll never know now.

What’s Bonnie (Kat Graham) been up to?
Poor Bon-Bon. Her friends don’t seem to care that their little witch is in desperate need of a Silas/Shane deprogramming spell. We assume she’s been helping the ancient-immortal-in-a-professor’s-body get blood bags (because how else would a 2,000-year-old who’s been buried underground know what a blood bag is?). Hopefully we’ll get to see Bonnie soon, so we can assess just how far gone she is.

How does Elena feel (or not feel) about Damon?
Ouch. We’re still cringing recalling Elena’s dead-eyed assessment of her relationship with Stefan (Paul Wesley): “I remember our sex, and it was good sex, I just don’t feel anything about it anymore.” She’s turned off all her emotions, yet she seems willing to head off to New York with Damon. Shouldn’t the same lack of feelings apply to him? Does she just think he’ll let her go a little farther off the deep end than Stefan would, or is something else going on?

Does Caroline (Candice Accola) really have dirty thoughts about Klaus?
One of the new Elena’s more noticeable traits? Her complete bluntness. While she and Caroline were fighting in the woods, Elena told her (former?)

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: What’s Bonnie’s Problem?

Bonnie in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 10: “After School Special”

Come on, Mystic Falls gang. Get it together! Your friend Bonnie (Kat Graham) is talking about committing ritual sacrifice and all you can do is attend parties thrown by an unemotional vampire?

The Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec tells Zap2It that the witch will soon come back into the picture. Her pals should be more worried than ever because Bonnie hasn’t given up on the idea of lifting the veil — and resurrecting all the deceased supernaturals — to bring back Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). “She's at a fork in the road, and that is definitely one of the prongs in the road," Julie says.

Having an undue amount of influence on her (probably because all her friends are too busy cheerleading) is Shane (David Alpay) — or Silas in Shane’s body. "Definitely,

'Vampire Diaries' star Claire Holt talks moving on to 'The Originals,' Paul Wesley's sense of humor, and much more

In case we haven't made it abundantly clear, we're pretty obsessed with Claire Holt from "The Vampire Diaries." Holt was brought on to the show as a recurring guest star and quickly climbed the ranks -- she recently signed on reprise her role as Rebekah on the spin-off "The Originals." Rebekah has proven to be one of the most nuanced and dynamic characters on the show, straddling the line between vicious villain and vulnerable teenager with grace and wit.

Like we said... we're obsessed.

We recently had the chance to sit down with Claire on set, while she was shooting an upcoming scene with Nina Dobrev... and Nina Dobrev's body double.

Yes, Katherine and Rebekah will finally come face to face, and we can expect some fireworks.

"It's kind of funny," Claire tells us. "They're so similar in a way, but so different in a way. I think Rebekah likes having the power. She likes controlling situations. I think she's liked to play that sort of vixen role in Mystic Falls, and Katherine has been the ultimate vixen, so I don't think they're going to be the best of friends, that's for sure."

Now that the cure for vampirism is in play, Rebekah is

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Why Were Damon and Lexi Friends?

Lexi and Damon in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 17: “Because the Night”

Beware! The Vampire Diaries spoilers for Season 4, Episode 17, “Because the Night.”
If you’d told us back in Season 1 that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Lexi (Arielle Kebbel) were once friends, we never would’ve believed you. But even though we’ve seen them interact more and more over the decades (in flashbacks), it still seems pretty unlikely. He killed her so casually, if you recall.

In a new sneak peek video for Season 4, Episode 17, “Because the Night,” we get a little hint about why the immortal enemies were hanging out in the 1970s.

In the clip, Damon, Elena (Nina Dobrev), and Rebekah (Claire Holt) are all together in a New York City nightclub, listening to the band Dead Sara. When Damon passes around shots, the newly emotion-free vampire is skeptical. “Is this allowed?” Elena asks. “What would Lexi say?”

First of all, it appears that Elena and Bex are actually getting along. It’s kind of fitting that the Original sister would like this version of the doppelganger — they have very similar “I do what I want” attitudes.

Secondly, Damon explains what

The Vampire Diaries’ Arielle Kebbel Lands New CW Show “Perfect Score”

Congratulations to Arielle Kebbel! She just landed a spot hosting a new CW show called Perfect Score.

According to TVLine, Arielle will appear on The CW’s new dating game, which debuts this summer. On the show, two friends go head to head, trying to select the most compatible match from a group of 12 possibilities.

Using compatibility tests, the potential mates are assigned a monetary value. The more compatible, the higher the value. Whichever contestant opts for their most well-matched mate — aka, the one with the highest dollar amount — wins a date with the match and the money.

Oh, The Vampire Diaries fans. We knew this day would come. The day when The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder would succumb to some serious real world tragedy. The day where his twitter followers would shower his account with condolences. The day when we would actually struggle to remember Ian in better times. The day where….well, you get the idea. Of course, that day was to happen after The Vampire Diaries had long been canceled, right?

Well, apparently now. I guess that day was just yesterday. And to think that just a day ago, I was feeling that Ian was above most mortals in every way. He could be with whomever he want and achieve whatever he felt like achieving. Well, now my bubble has burst, possibly permanently. And, no, this has nothing to do with those relationship ending rumors he has been dealing with.

Ian apparently awoke on Tuesday morning to discover

Ian Somerhalder Fronts New CREE LED Bulb Campaign

ian somerhalder cree lightbulb

Ian Somerhalder has partnered with CREE to promote their groundbreaking new LED lightbulb – saying in a recent interview that the company’s technology will “revolutionize the consumer market for lightbulbs.”

“They use the saying, which is kind of awesome, ‘the coolest invention since the light bulb.,’” he tells the Huffington Post. “And you know what? It is, man! It uses 84 percent less energy, and Thomas Edison always said something to the effect of, “do it more or do it better.” I mean, it gives a 10 year warrantee on a light bulb! 25,000 hours! It’s amazing what they’ve accomplished, so that’s why I’m really excited about this partnership. I really believe in these guys and I’m very fortunate.”

Somerhalder’s involvement with CREE actually goes back a bit, as the company helps make the super-efficient lights featured in his “Go Green Mobile Power” company.

“We’ve built stuff for the Department of Homeland Security, and we’ll be doing it for the Department of Defense,” he says. “We’re really moving into the world of LED, and Cree actually builds our lights for us. It’s a really phenomenal, full-circle partnership between Cree, me and some of the projects that I’ve been working on. I’m really thankful to these guys.”

On-the-set pics of Vampire Diaries American Gothic

Elena and Elijah share some bubbly on 4x18 American Gothic episode of The Vampire Diaries.

After Jeremy's death on The Vampire Diaries, I expected at least a somewhat somber episode, but it definitely wasn't "Bring It On." The only substantial mention of mourning was when Elena looked at the Memorial flyer pictured. Otherwise, Elena was flying high and having fun as an emotionless vampire.

Cheerleading Ruse

Elena asked Caroline to get her back on the cheerleading squad and it happened immediately. I can't imagine a high school that would let someone back on the team that quickly and just because she's friends with the captain, but okay, I'll go with it.

Elena didn't join because Damon told her too, but because she wanted to have fun and suck some vervain-free cheerleader blood. Oh, and don't forget, she also wanted the blue ribbon.

Initially, I thought the idea of an emotionless Elena would be a nice change, but she's just a bitch. Her decision to let Caroline fall and hit the ground was despicable. Yes, Caroline's a vampire, but it still hurt, physically and especially emotionally.

All about Elena

From the opening scene laying across the road, to the cheerleading competition, to the party, it was all about Elena. She wanted what she wanted, when she wanted it, with no consideration for anyone else.

Her inhibitions were gone, so she walked around naked, stretched against Stefan, and then changed in front of him. She had no regard for his or anyone else's feelings.

She threatened Sheriff Forbes and got into a nasty brawl with Caroline. This isn't the Elena I want to see. We've seen this moral degradation with others before, but Elena is supposed to be different. She's supposed to be the innocent one that we want to see happy and to succeed in live.

“American Gothic,” airing March 28th, is the episode when Daniel Gillies, Elijah on both The Vampire Diaries and the upcoming The Originals, returns, and seems to be a significant presence! The cure is still out there, and everybody is looking for it. Is Elijah looking for it, too?

Elena and Rebekah are teaming up to search for it and Katherine, and end up in a small town in Pennsylvania. According to the “American Gothic” official synopsis, this is where they encounter Elijah.

Why would Elijah be in this little Pennsylvania town if he wasn’t also looking for the cure, or at least Katherine? Or may he’s already met up with Katherine and is working with her. Maybe he wants to find out what Elena and Rebekah know about the cure or the whereabouts of Katherine. Maybe he’s just keeping tabs on Elena and Rebekah to keep them from finding Katherine!

This episode sounds like it will be very revealing, and until it airs, here are some On-the-set Pictures of 4×18 “American Gothic”:

News/Jack Nicholson Rejects Nina Dobrev, Says No to Picture at Lakers Game

Jack Nicholson, Nina Dobrev

Nina Dobrev is no Jennifer Lawrence.

At least, not in Jack Nicholson's eyes. On Sunday, the Vampire Diaries star and Julianne Hough went to the Lakers game, but Nina's request for a pic with Hollywood's coolest man was denied!

"Just asked jack Nicholson to take a picture WITH ME.. He said no. #rejected," the 24-year-old actress wrote, linking to a WhoSay image of Jack, 75, sitting courtside. "Haha so I took a pic of him solo #paparazzi LOL"

We don't feel too bad for Nina, though. She is, after all, dating the very sexy Ian Somerhalder. Plus, from the looks of another WhoSay photo, she and her newly single friend, Julianne, had a pretty good time cheering on L.A.'s team.

And being rejected by Jack Nicholson? That's kind of a claim to fame in itself.

'Vampire Diaries': Ian Somerhalder contemplates Damon's life with the cure, and casting Silas

The Vampire Diaries is back tonight to begin a new chapter, with an Elena who’s turned off her emotions to survive the pain of Jeremy’s death. How will it affect her relationship with Damon? “I think the loyalty part definitely went out the window,” Ian Somerhalder says. “I think the sire bond was more emotionally based, and now she doesn’t care about anything. He’s kinda screwed. She’s not havin’ it. And she doesn’t want the cure. She’s thinking You know what, I’m just so tired of being so vulnerable. This way, she walks out of the house, and she’s not worried about getting killed every five minutes. She’s now an empowered badass chick. So having said that,
