The Vampire Diaries Ian Somerhalder Robbed!

Oh, The Vampire Diaries fans. We knew this day would come. The day when The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder would succumb to some serious real world tragedy. The day where his twitter followers would shower his account with condolences. The day when we would actually struggle to remember Ian in better times. The day where….well, you get the idea. Of course, that day was to happen after The Vampire Diaries had long been canceled, right?

Well, apparently now. I guess that day was just yesterday. And to think that just a day ago, I was feeling that Ian was above most mortals in every way. He could be with whomever he want and achieve whatever he felt like achieving. Well, now my bubble has burst, possibly permanently. And, no, this has nothing to do with those relationship ending rumors he has been dealing with.

Ian apparently awoke on Tuesday morning to discover
that his car had been broken into in the middle of the night (bet he wishes that he got to sleep during the day like his character, Damon, does). The thieve or thieves apparently broke his window and stole his iPod.  Luckily (or unfortunately, depending on who you ask), Ian decided to take a picture of the wreckage and upload it on Instagram so all of his followers could feel sorry for him. Yes, The Vampire Diaries fans, professional actors also have their cars broken into. No one is immune to this social disease. One would think that Ian would have been wise enough to not park his car on the street. Or maybe he should not have left his iPod on his seat where thieves could see it and decide to make it their’s. As usual, Ian was quick to post a comment to gain even more sympathy.

“Times are tough I know-but whoever smashed my window last night&stole my iPod-you’re in Luck;I just put some great new music on it!” he wrote. “You’re a dick FYI.”

Oh, the humanity! Oh, what an outrage! Poor Ian. Showing such grace under fire. His instagram  followers were quick to show support. They were also quick to question why he put the device on his seat. But, most importantly, his car was not stolen and no persons were injured, that we know of anyway. I really do not like to think of the thief or theieves reading about this on the internet and suddenly realizing that he or she has Ian Somerhalder’s iPod and tries to pawn it or sell it on eBay. Very sad day, I think. But, considering that it’s Ian Somerhalder, I think he will be getting his window fixed and a new, updated iPod in no time. Life is always better when you are on the CW.
