‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4: Series boss on Nina Dobrev’s new look
Remember the new look that Nina Dobrev is set to sport a couple of episodes down the road as Elena on “The Vampire Diaries”? Well as it turns out, there is more of a purpose behind this look here than the character just trying to do her best impersonation of Britta Perry from “Community” by getting a colorful streak in her hair when the going gets tough (or, in this situation, when you’ve decided to no longer behave as a human).
Since they were kind enough to link back to our original story, we’ll be doing the same here in sharing Entertainment Weekly’s new interview with executive producer Julie Plec. Here, the showrunner explained a little bit more as to why this was the perfect time for Elena to undergo some sort of physical change, mostly because she has been donning a style as of late that is really not in tune with her personality at all:
“She had a very, very, very specific and safe style for the first three seasons, and this year, we evolved it a little bit when she became a vampire and had a little more freedom in her choices. But now we literally packed up all her clothes and put them into storage and bought her a new wardrobe.”
Plec said that overall, this look is going to have more belts, skirts, and accessories than what Elena has worn before; and if nothing else, it should leave a lasting impression on her potential victims just as she is biting into their flesh. (A wonderful thought, we know.)
