Vampire Diaries Spin-Off: Meet the Cast of The Originals!
Whether you’re excited or pensive about the prospect of a Vampire Diaries spin-off, you’ve got to be intrigued about who will join Klaus in the Big Easy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, an Original-centric episode of TVD will air on April 25, which will set up the story arc that’s to become The Originals. The episode features Klaus, who makes a trip back down to New Orleans, where he runs into his diabolical former protégé, Marcel.

Joseph Morgan as Klaus


Who: Joseph Morgan
Character: Original vampire Klaus
Where You’ve Seen Him Before: The Vampire Diaries (obvs), Immortals
Details: When Klaus gets word that some people are planning to make a move against him, he heads to New Orleans to figure what they’re up to. We found out that Klaus was one of the city’s original (no pun intended) inhabitants. He later runs into numerous old friends, including his wicked former protégé, Marcel.







Claire Holt as Rebekah


Who: Claire Holt
Character: Original vampire Rebekah Mikaelson
Where You’ve Seen Her Before:
The Vampire Diaries (of course), Pretty Little Liars
Details: Along with her Original brothers Klaus and Elijah, Rebekah will return to the French Quarter of Louisiana where she and her family left an indelible mark back in the early 1990s.








Daniel Gillies as Elijah


Who: Daniel Gillies
Character: Original vampire Elijah
Where You’ve Seen Him Before: The Vampire Diaries (duh), Spider-Man 2, Saving Hope
Details: Joining his siblings, Elijah will head to New Orleans where Klaus’s former protégé Marcel is stirring up all sorts of trouble in the city. Though Daniel Gillies is currently filming the Canadian show Saving Hope, his schedule for the spin-off isn’t expected to interfere.







Phoebe Tonkin as Haley


Who: Phoebe Tonkin
Character: Werewolf Haley
Where You’ve Seen Her Before: The Vampire Diaries (natch), The Secret Circle
Details: No word yet on how Haley will be involved... but after she helped to organize the murder of 12 hybrids, we can only imagine things will get messy!










Charles Michael Davis as Marcel


Who: Charles Michael Davis
Character: Klaus’s former protégé Marcel
Where You’ve Seen Him Before: Switched at Birth, The Game
Details: As Klaus’s former protégé, Marcel is described as wicked, wild, and charismatic. Once a kicked-around street rat, Klaus turned Marcel into a vampire and taught him everything he knew about power and manipulation. When the Originals return to New Orleans, they find that Marcel’s now in charge of the supernatural community, and he’s created a whole new set of rules.







Daniella Pineda as Witch Sophie

Who: Daniella Pineda
Character: Witch Sophie
Where You’ve Seen Her Before: The Fitzgerald Family Christmas, various CollegeHumor comedy shorts
Details: Much like what happened to Bonnie, witch Sophie has lost her magic powers, but she’s got plans to get them back. Quietly, Sophie’s been attempting to sow the seeds of a revolution amongst her peers.

Details: Much like Elena in Season 1, Camille is a human and completely clueless about the vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural creatures that are running around town. When she starts studying psychology and the nature of evil, Camille is sure to find herself in some compromising positions.
